How can students purchase textbooks for next term?
The bookstore offers students the option of purchasing books in the actual store or on the bookstore’s website. If you purchase books from the website, you can choose to have the books shipped (shipping costs apply) or you can pick them up at the bookstore. You will receive a confirmation email indicating your order was received and a secondary email indicating when the books will ship or be ready for pickup.
Can students purchase more than textbooks from the website?
Yes. The website offers a huge selection of general and Rutgers-specific merchandise including clothing, gifts, school supplies, diploma frames, and many other items.
What if a textbook I need is out of stock?
If a book you need is out of stock, the bookstore will notify you when the book arrives. You will not be charged until the book arrives in the bookstore and is ready for pickup or delivery.
Does Barnes & Noble accept Knight Express as a form of payment?
Yes. Knight Express is an acceptable form of payment at all Rutgers Barnes & Noble College Booksellers and convenience store locations.
What is Barnes & Noble’s buyback policy?
Students can sell their books back to the bookstore all year long, regardless of where the books were purchased. The best time to sell books back to the bookstore is during finals.
How much will the bookstore pay for used textbooks?
If the bookstore knows that a book will be used the next term, they will offer students 50 percent of the purchase price for that book until they reach the needed inventory. If the bookstore is unable to confirm that a book is being reused next term, or they know for certain that it will not be used again, the bookstore will still buy the book back from students for less than 50 percent.
