Why was Barnes & Noble College Booksellers selected?
Rutgers selected Barnes & Noble College Booksellers following a comprehensive and highly competitive request for proposal process, which included submissions from several national firms. Barnes & Noble offered new and enhanced services and programs, as well as experience operating superstores in more than 20 locations nationwide.

Barnes & Noble College Booksellers has access to the largest used-book database in the industry and a competitive buyback policy that passes on a tremendous savings to all customers. For example, used books are 25 percent below the price of new books, which passes a direct savings back to students purchasing textbooks for classes.

Have the hours of operation at the Rutgers University bookstores and convenience stores changed?
No. Barnes & Noble will not be changing the hours of operation for any of its locations at this time. Extended hours may be offered in the future.

Barnes & Noble College Booksellers, Inc. is a privately held company that operates bookstores on college campuses and also operates off-campus stores at some schools. They have branches at more than 500 colleges and universities nationwide. Barnes and Noble College Booksellers is geared toward the university community, offering a strong used-textbook and buyback program, and will offer Rutgers-specific apparel and merchandise.

The Barnes & Noble store in North Brunswick is run by Barnes & Noble, Inc. and is geared toward the general public, not a specific university community.
